I have tried to get information but no response in the last month.   I want to create a sys tray object on my custom desktop.  I cant seem to make one although I can make a task list object.   I thought Dx came with a plugin to allow this?  I remember a few years back (well my memory could be wrong) that I was able to create a systray object but now..? doesnt seem possible.

Is there anyway to do this?

Latest version of DesktopX doesn't have the systray plugin anymore. Hopefully, it will be returned in the next version.

Is there a standard API if someone wanted to write their own plugin?  I dont remember seeing anything in the documentation.... but thats been awhile...

This is the only reference to plugins in the DevGuide that I'm aware of  -- SD Plugin Specifications

There's a work around I've used.  Load an older DX theme with a working systry object then save it as an object.  Start a new DX theme and import the systray object you created.  That's worked for me before.

Hi BigDog! Hope things are continuing to go well for you.

I've tried that trick, but when I load an older, working theme, it shows up with no systray, and therefore, nothing to export. I read somewhere else that another DX user got that trick to work, so I'm not sure why it works for some and not for others.

Worth a try, though.
